Qt Ubuntu

Ubuntu (Unity) is moving toward Qt

After choosing Qt/QML framework as main support for its mobile operating system (smartphone/tablet), it seems that the desktop version is moving toward this line.
The next version of Unity, the hated/loved Ubuntu Desktop user interface called “Unity Next” will be realized in fact with the new framework Qt5.

curiosity

Curiosity… how many computer onboard???

It began as one of the most spectacular missions for the technologies used to land a Rover as big as a Smart  on Mars, but it is proving to be even more spectacular for the hardware design of Curiosity.

It is a news of these days, in fact, that Curiosity has had problems in flash memory of the main computer; Can NASA have overlooked the possibility that a similar problem can invalidate a mission that has cost of several million of dollars? Of course not. In fact, the control of the rover has been swapped to a second computer that will be made fully operational shortly after a short passage in “safe mode”. In the meantime, the land-based operators can easily restore the full functionality of the computer that has been just sent to rest.

Power of the redundancy.
